After looking back at 2015 last week, it’s now time for the diary of December.
December was the month of finishing my classes and handing in the final essay assignments. Quite some stress, but I’m glad to say that I finished it perfectly in time and I have passed all my classes! High Five & Happy Dance!
It was also a very fun month, because my Dutch friend Siglinde came to visit Stockholm for a few days and I went north to Lulea with my South-African friend Ancia. Both special and joyful events and I’ll show you all of it in pictures below. Continue reading December Diary
A new dawn is rising. And this time it’s not just another day ahead, but a full year. A year that is still blank, to be filled with hopes, dreams and wishes.
Usually at the end of a year, I look back. Reflect on the beautiful and the bad moments. And look forward to next year: what is going to happen, what things do I want to do, make some nice resolutions.
But this year it’s different. For the past year I’ve pretty much lived my dream: studying abroad. And because 2015 was such a dream year, I don’t really have that many wishes for 2016. All I know is that I will be graduating from my bachelors next year and for the rest…
We’ll see what happens. I don’t want to set any goals, 2016 can come as it comes. I will enjoy the good of it and embrace the bad as well as possible.
So now that the new year is covered, let’s look back at the highlights of 2015! Continue reading The Highlights of 2015
November was awesome. Especially the last week, because my family came to visit Stockholm for a few days! And what an awesome and blessed time we had. We’ve seen a lot of the city and even went into the Archipelago to enjoy the nature and typical Swedish houses there.
It was actually the first family holiday since 11 years! We all enjoyed it and agreed we should do this maybe every 5 years or so, but then to rent a little house in a small town and enjoy walks and bike trips in the nature around. My parents and sister aren’t that much of a city person as I am. 🙂 Nonetheless we had an amazing few days all together.
But to be able to enjoy those days to the fullest, I had to work ahead with my school assignments. That took some motivation, but I got it almost all done before they arrived.
What else I’ve done in November? I honestly don’t remember. All previous memories are wiped away by the memories of my family being here. 🙂 Let’s see if some pictures can help me remember. Continue reading November Diary
Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever had a month so busy…
Most days I woke up at 7.30am, get to my lectures and when I got home I would work on the required reading and assignments till about 23pm and get to sleep. That’s what every single day was like, not kidding.
In the weekends I could sleep in a little, but it was still full steam ahead all day long. I think I’d have about 4-5 hours of free time in the weekend to Skype my family and play online games with them… Continue reading October Diary
Don’t you love it to peak into other people’s houses?
My high school Geography teacher once told that after dinner he would always take a walk through his neighborhood and he loved to look into peoples houses. How they lived, what it looked like, what they were doing? And he loved it especially during the darker days, when the lights and candles would go on and it would look all cozy and warm. I guess it’s human nature to be curious about other people’s lives.
So I have good news: I’m going to let your human nature have a ball today. Continue reading How I Made a Rented Room Feel Like Home – Room Tour
