Can you feel it? Slowly the temperature is rising. Now and then the sun shows his face from behind the clouds. Don’t you love that time of year, when Spring is about to start?
And when Spring comes, you can bet it is also time to celebrate Easter. This year Easter is very early (March 27th in case you were wondering). So it’s about time to start thinking of some fun Easter decoration for you home.
The past weeks I’ve shown you the Best of Stockholm and the lovely souvenirs I took home. And on top of that Swedes are great in decorating houses. We all love those beautiful Scandinavian interior designs, right?
Today I’ve compiled a list of 10 DIY’s to make some of those typical Swedish items to give your house a touch of Scandinavia.
It was sad to say goodbye to the city that has been my home for 5 months, but it was good. The last week I visited several museums, enjoyed the city from a viewpoint and walked it’s streets to say goodbye.
Coming home was something I really looked forward to: hugging my family again, seeing my grandparents and of course hugging, kissing and playing with my ferret Mexy after missing her for 5 months. Pretty much as soon as I touched ground in The Netherlands, my whole study abroad period seemed like a big nice dream. Everything around me is familiar and I’m used to it, it’s as if I woke up from a 5 month sleep and hit the play button again.
Luckily I have my family who visited Stockholm, so they can pinch me: It wasn’t just a dream, I really lived in Stockholm. And I have brought some souvenirs back home to remember my time there.
A new dawn is rising. And this time it’s not just another day ahead, but a full year. A year that is still blank, to be filled with hopes, dreams and wishes.
Usually at the end of a year, I look back. Reflect on the beautiful and the bad moments. And look forward to next year: what is going to happen, what things do I want to do, make some nice resolutions.
But this year it’s different. For the past year I’ve pretty much lived my dream: studying abroad. And because 2015 was such a dream year, I don’t really have that many wishes for 2016. All I know is that I will be graduating from my bachelors next year and for the rest…
We’ll see what happens. I don’t want to set any goals, 2016 can come as it comes. I will enjoy the good of it and embrace the bad as well as possible.
