May Diary

May started out perfect with a trip to Copenhagen! I’ve already shared a lot of pictures from that trip in another post.

After that holiday May was mostly about school. Working hard on two projects, keeping up with the courses I’m taking. Not much fun.

What is much fun, is that this month I’ve also got a GO for studying in Stockholm! Not all courses I’d like to take are sure, because I’ll have to register at the end of August. But it’s not going to be any more sure than this for now. So I’ve started preparing: subscribing at the uni, investigating the city, trying to learn the language and booking a ticket. August 22nd I’m going to be very sick. Sick from nerves and excitement, cause that’s the day I’m leaving The Netherlands for a while! Almost can’t wait.

So since I'll be living in Stockholm for 5 months, I started to read about the city and learn some Swedish. The last bit isn't going really well. I still can only introduce myself: Jag ar Jacolien.

Last month I've added three new products to the JCLN Etsy shop: this lovely braided belt, an elegant lace stole and a summery triangle scarf.

I try to cook healthy for myself and since I love green curry, I really needed to find a way to make it myself. Last month I finally tried out Jonnie de Boer's green curry spice mix. Perfect!

I've also taken some time to restyle my corkboard. And this started with a fresh coat of paint

And this is the result. I've showed you this and more in last weeks blog post.

I've even added a little piece of string art, just to try it. I love how those diamond pins light the heart up.

And as you may have seen last week here, I've finished my Chevron Blanket! I'm so happy with it and I love using it. Not tomorrow I guess, since it will be 30 degrees Celcius...

Somewhere half way through the month I visited the food truck festival TREK with a friend. It was a perfect day with the sun being out.

I had a delicious hamburger there with some extra bacon. It's from Pickles, which also has a location in the centre of Utrecht.

And to finish this diary a picture of my sweet ferret Mexy. She found out how to get behind the curtain, a really smal space where she can hardly turn her but without falling down. Cutie pie.

Crafts: I’ve finished the Chevron blanket! I love it! I guess now I’ll have to choose between all the other projects I still want to make.

Books: I finished ‘This Book Will Save Your Life’ by A.M. Homes and started reading ‘Bagage’ by Emily Barr.

Movies/series: I finished Gossip Girl early in the month and then went on with ‘The 4400’. Now I’m watching Downton Abbey, which I almost finished. Oops…

Favorite moment: The delight of studying in Stockholm. I love daydreaming about it.

Suckiest moment: uh… No idea really. May was pretty fine.
