July Diary

Wow, this past summer month was hectic on one side, but very slow on the other side.

Not much happened. I worked fulltime at a hospital lab, to earn money for my stay abroad. So there was not much time for days out or other stuff.

I visited my parents one weekend and also saw my sister and her husband again. And the other time was mostly filled with cooking, cleaning my room and I started packing the things that I wouldn’t need.

I also spent one week offline, as you may have read last week. That was a week with loads of reading. I think there were at least 15 magazines I still had lying around and that I have now finally read…

With all the working July went fast. But on the other hand it went so slow. I’m counting down every day until I’ll leave for Stockholm. On one side I’m so excited to go and can’t wait to find out what it’s like to kind of start my life from scratch. But every day that passed, is one day less to spend with and hug my sweet ferret. Each morning when we wake up we look at each other and sigh… Another day crossed away from our time together.

So, for this month there aren’t that many pictures. I promise you, next month there will be many many more!

I started working at UMC Utrecht!

On July 5th the Tour the France passed one street a way from my house, so I had to go watch it. But to be honest, it's a lot of waiting, a lot of sponsor cars and in about 15 seconds all the cyclists have passed. But it was fun to witness for once.

The weekend after I visited the textile market with a friend. All those colors and patterns, love it!

Secretly I already started saying goodbye to Holland and it's beautiful landscapes somewhere half way July. Bye bye!

And to finish, this is a new scarf I started knitting. I love the texture and it's so flexible and light. Hopefully I'll finish it soon enough to wear it when Autumn hits Stockholm.

Crafts: I worked a bit on the scalloped scarf and started a new scarf. This is the one above and is knitted with a nice summery airy pattern.

Books: I finished ‘Bagage’ by Emily Barr and now started in ‘Friday on my Mind’ by Nicci French.

Movies/series: I watched Mr. Selfridge, which was a really enjoyable one. And now I’m re-watching The Killing.

Favorite moment: I guess that will be my week offline. The silence and all the time of the world to read and such.

Suckiest moment: hmmm, probably when I had to go to work after a bad night of sleep…
