10 DIY Advent Calendars

8 DIY Advent Calendars

Is it time for this already? Heck yes!

This Saturday the Christmas lights will be turned on here in Stockholm and besides that, November is running like a well-oiled train. Only 11 days until December comes peaking around the corner.

Once it’s December 1st we get to start opening our advent calendars one day at a time. It’s so much fun to look forward to Christmas with anticipation and enjoy the build up of excitement for those cozy days with the family.

And what way it’s better than with a handmade calendar with presents or little messages in it that fit you and your family perfectly.

I’ve gathered 8 lovely tutorials for you to help you create a unique advent calendar this year. Enjoy! ACOLPhoto credit: Shifra Jumulet, A Cup of Life Let’s start with a cute advent calendar by my favourite blogger: Shifra from A Cup of Life. She makes amazing DIY’s, among which these obviously, and inspires me every single time.   BubblyfunkPhoto credit: Bubbly Funk This calendar is so smart, it’s made from 24 match boxes! So throw away those gas lighters and go oldschool with matches, save the boxes and get creative. A tutorial for this one you can find at Bubbly Funk.     Dear Lillie Photo credit: Dear Lillie If you like to get crafty with wood, this DIY is for you. You’ll learn how to make a simple wooden tree. Then you can attach clothes pins on it and snap 25 bags in them. The DIY for this one is from Dear Lillie.   Infarrantly creative Photo credit: Infarrantly Creative The fourth advent calendar is made from 25 mini buckets from a Dollar store, how smart! This calendar is pretty big, so it’s a nice addiction to your Christmas decoration too. I also love how there’s a magnet (on the picture on bucket #1) that you can move to the date of today. For a step-by-step tutorial you go to Infarrantly Creative.   Mr. Printalbes Photo credit: Mr. Printables This one is so cute. And another plus: it’s free! You can download these houses over at Mr. Printables, print them, cut them and fold them to create your own little Christmas Advent village.   The creative place Photo credit: The Creative Place This advent calendar is so creative. Grab some envelopes you have lying around or make some yourself with pretty paper. You can go crazy wild with this calendar from The Creative Place.   The fox and star Photo credit: The Fox and Star With this one you can also go creatively crazy. Make it with a certain color scheme that combines with your other Christmas decoration or make it colorful with all the colors of the rainbow. Those clothes pins look so cool too, just add some washi on it and you’re done! Find the DIY on The Fox and Star website.   The girl creative Photo credit: The Girl Creative This advent calendar is more for adults I think. You could plan out 25 things you will do together with your husband/friend, so fun! It’s from The Girl Creative, the tutorial can be found here.   Olivemepost Photo credit: Cindy from Olivemepost This one is cute, stylish and simple to make All you need are some paper lunchbags, a pen or stamps and twine to hang the bags on. There is no tutorial for this one, but the idea is obvious, right?   Villanagorlunda Photo credit: Villa Nagorlunda And this is the last one already! I love those cones from old newspapers and other cute stuff. It feels like it’s so cold that there’s huges icecles coming down from your ceiling. You can find the DIY at Villa Nagorlunda.
